The Pleasant Hill Library has a collection of more than 100 maps of Contra Costa County dating from 1870 to the present. Some of these historic maps may be viewed online at Remember & Go, the Library's online local history collection and are included in the Library's visual catalog. The Library has a historical collection of Thomas Bros. maps and street directories for Contra Costa dating from the 1950s to the present, and assorted street directories for other Bay Area counties. These items can be found in the Library Catalog. The Pleasant Hill Library also has microfilm of Sanborn fire insurance maps for Contra Costa County dating from 1884 to 1951.
