Contra Costa County Library Holiday Closure & System Upgrade
New Automated System * New Catalogs * New Website

January 25, 2010 – Contra Costa County, CA – Due to County budget cuts and the Presidents Day holiday, all Contra Costa County Library locations will be closed from Friday, February 12 through Monday, February 15. During the closure, all library book drops will be closed and no items will be due for return.

The Library will use this time to upgrade the automated system and prepare the launch of a redesigned website featuring an enhanced version of the classic catalog and a new visual catalog to allow users to more easily find and make use of library materials and services. A preview of our new website is available.

Because of the upgrade, the Contra Costa County Library website will not be available for placing holds, checking accounts, and using electronic resources; phone services, including renewals, will not be available from the evening of Thursday, February 11 until Tuesday, February 16, when all library locations will return to regular hours and service.

The Contra Costa County Library serves residents countywide with 25 locations, 3 Library-a-Go-Go book dispensers, and online library services available 24/7 at ccclib.org. Last year almost 4 million people visited the Contra Costa County community libraries and checked out over 6 million items.
