Meet Heidi Goldstein, Senior Community Library Manager at the El Cerrito and Rodeo Libraries

Heidi GoldsteinHeidi Goldstein is the senior community library manager for the El Cerrito and Rodeo libraries. Born in New York, Heidi was raised in Florida and moved to the West Coast where she pursued her master’s degree.

A unique talent revealed the first sign she was meant for a career in the library.

“My mother noticed when I was about eight that I could read upside down and told me that I’d be a good librarian,” she says. “I knew with my love of reading and passion for literacy, truth, information, and knowledge that a library would be the ideal place for me.”

Heidi thinks the stereotype about librarians is wrong; at least when it comes to her.

“I’m one of the loudest people I know and highly outgoing and extroverted’” she laughs. “I thrive in chaotic situations and enjoy noise. Levity is invaluable.”

A vegetarian since she was 14, Heidi has a dog named Beezy and loves to hang out and relax in her spare time.
She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and her master’s in library and information science from San Jose State University.
