Meet Kimberli Buckley, Community Library Manager at Concord

Kimberli BuckleyKimberli Buckley is a big fan of young adult literature. She started reading it when her kids became teenagers. She says reading about different characters and their struggles helped her find new ways to relate to her own young adults. She enjoys reading about the characters, figuring out who they are and the struggles that they have endured and appreciates how they often show a great resilience and courage.

Kimberli is the Community Library Manager at Concord and loves that every day brings something different to the library. She gets excited by the opportunity to meet so many people and to create new programs for the community. She especially enjoys designing programming for teens and says her background as an event planner has helped her to come up with innovative and fun ideas.

“One of the most interesting things about planning programs for teens is coming up with ideas that will spark their attention,” she says. “I eat, sleep and dream about teen programming. I am total a teen at heart and can prove it because I love unicorns, narwhals, sparkles and Instagram.”

“Kimberli likes reading young adult books because it makes her remember what it was like to be a teen and relive her own teen years when emotions were high and experiences in life were all brand new.

One of her most favorite young adult books is Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card.

“I didn’t see the end coming,” she laughs. “I was blown away.”
