Meet Noelle Burch, Community Library Manager at the Martinez Library

Noelle BurchNoelle Burch is the new community library manager in Martinez. With Contra Costa County Library since 2011, she has also worked as the librarian at Juvenile Hall and the Orin Allen Youth Rehabilitation Center, and the Walnut Creek Library.

Noelle’s passion for the library came in part from her grandmothers.

“One was a nurse and the other an occupational therapist and they always emphasized the importance of people helping one another,” she says. “So, long story short, I found a job where I could help people.”

Noelle describes Martinez as a close-knit community and says she really appreciates that the community prioritizes creating opportunities for everyone, whether it is education, supporting small businesses, or providing services for the most vulnerable.

In her spare time. Noelle enjoys exploring the Bay Area, walking with her best friend, a dog named Ollie, and planning trips home to see family in New York. She is also a superfan of the television show “Survivor.”

“I have been watching it since I was a kid. I’m not sure if I could ever be a contestant, but I won’t rule it out,” she laughs.

Noelle received her bachelor’s degree in English from Stony Brook University and her master’s in library and information science from St. John’s University.
