Black History Month

Established in 1926 by Dr. Carter G. Woodson as a single week, Black History Month is now celebrated in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada throughout the month of February. Although one month isn’t enough time to appreciate all that Black history has contributed to the world, it is an opportunity to be reminded of some of the most significant events in history as well as some of the greatest leaders, thinkers, artists and activists.
"If a race has no history, it has no worthwhile tradition, it becomes a negligible factor in the thought of the world, and it stands in danger of being exterminated."
~Dr. Carter G. Woodson
