Indie Author Day 2020

Submitted by CCCL_AlbertG

Each year, libraries and organizations around the world welcome local indie authors, writers, and their communities in for a day of education, networking, mingling, writing, open mics, panels, and more. This year, the Contra Costa County Library is hosting a virtual Indie Author Day with a host of online classes and live presentations by local California independent authors Lee Wind and L.S. Johnson. The event will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2020.

Through self-publishing services and independent presses, writers have more opportunities than ever to release their work. Indie Author Day celebrates this DIY spirit by providing author and illustrator forums and workshops for all backgrounds and levels of experience. While this year’s event will not be able to feature all these great resources, the spirit of Indie Author Day lives on through our virtual event.

The Contra Costa County Library has a great collection of creative writing resources including editing and publishing assistance. You have a story to tell, and the Contra Costa County Library wants to help you get it written. Check out this booklist for more resources and get writing.
