Women’s History Month

Contra Costa County Library proudly celebrates contributions women have made in various institutions and fields throughout the history of the United States. Through continued civic engagement, women’s public advocacy groups led Congress to pass Public Laws 97-28 (1981) and 100-9 (1987) creating Women’s History Week and Women’s History Month respectively.
