Beginning July 2, the Pinole Library will open an additional 11 hours a week. The new
schedule will include five days of consecutive library service and open hours on
Tuesdays and Thursdays, which were previously closed days. The additional hours are
funded through a partnership between the Contra Costa County Library and the
City of Pinole.
The Pinole City Council said, “The City of Pinole is committed to providing as many services as possible to members of our community. We look forward to seeing where this partnership can lead.”
“The library is a valuable resource for families in Pinole,” said John Gioia, Chair of the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. “Increasing hours means more convenience and greater access to programs that benefit the community.”
The change in library hours aligns with the Library’s Strategic Plan which calls for easy and equitable access for all, a consistent, high-quality and inviting experience and optimal library hours at the community level.
