The Contra Costa County Library is dedicated to connecting the County’s communities with information, resources and services despite the library buildings being closed. The Library’s website contains many resources that can be accessed from home, 24 hours a day. On our digital resources page, you can find three Explora databases that are tailored for Elementary School, Middle School, and High School and Beyond. Explora is a research database with a simple search interface that quickly delivers relevant results including articles, essays and primary source documents. Access high-quality articles licensed from reputable publishers, recognized by library professionals and selected for use in a school environment. Topic overviews provide users with a starting point for research, the site has a mobile-friendly design and includes 60,000 videos.
With a Contra Costa County Library card or e-card number, you can access these databases for help with homework, research projects, or just to satisfy your need to know how, why and who. The Explora databases provide options to filter results for peer reviewed and full text articles as well as publication dates and also provides citation information. The results can be emailed, saved to a portable drive, printed or exported to other formats like Google Drive, and you can listen to and download an audio version of the article.
Sign up for an e-card on the library’s website at ccclib.org and check out the Booklist Research and Discover and the many resources available to you on the Library’s website. Good luck and happy researching!
