LINK+ is a free service that allows library cardholders to borrow materials not available from the Contra Costa County Library collection.  LINK+ is a catalog of more than 4.5 million unique titles available from more than 55 academic and public libraries across California. Use your library card to request items for pickup at your local community library.

LINK+ FAQs

  • You will be notified when the item you requested is ready for pickup.

    Pick up and check out LINK+ items at the circulation desk. LINK+ items are not kept with the other holds and must be checked out by Library staff.

    The due date will be written by staff on the LINK+ label or book band. Due dates can also be checked by logging in to your Link+ account.

    Important: Do not remove any labels or sleeves from LINK+ items.

  • LINK+ is a free service where Contra Costa County Library card holders can borrow materials that are not available at Contra Costa County Library.  LINK+ is a cooperative effort among many California public and academic libraries. Use your library card to request items for pickup at your local Community Library.  A full-access library card is required.

    Once you find a title you would like to borrow, click on “Request This Item,” select “Contra Costa County Library” from the drop-down menu and click “Submit.” Enter your name, Library card number, select the pickup location from the drop down menu and click “Submit.’ If your item is available, you will see the message “Your request for {item requested} was successful.”

    You are allowed ten LINK+ items on request at one time.

    You cannot request items that are currently available from Contra Costa County Library.

    If no copies are available on the shelf at the lending library, you cannot successfully request the item.

    LINK+ does not allow for hold queues on items.

  • Contra Costa County Library Owned Materials

    • All Contra Costa County Library materials can be returned to any other Contra Costa County Library location.
    • Items can be returned in two ways:
      • At the circulation desk during Library open hours.
      • Through the outside book drop all hours, unless otherwise noted.

    Materials Borrowed Through LINK+

    • LINK+ items may be returned to any Contra Costa County Library branch.
    • LINK+ items must be returned directly to library staff, so a return receipt can be provided to show that the item was returned.
    • Visit the Library homepage
      • In the top right corner, click on Log In/My CCCLib to access the dropdown menu.
      • From the dropdown menu, select More Accounts.
    • From the More Accounts page
      • Navigate to the Other Accounts section.
        • Click on the LINK+ Account button.
    • On the Link+ Login page
      • Enter your Last Name in the first field.
      • Enter your Library Card Number in the second field.
      • Click the Submit button.
