I am very happy to announce that the brand-new Library Foundation of Contra Costa (LFCC) recently launched its website. The LFCC will help support all 26 of our libraries. I will also take this opportunity to present a message from the LFCC’s Chair, Nicole Gemmer.
I am pleased to write to you as the first chair of the Library Foundation of Contra Costa. The Foundation was formed to support the Library’s need for more funding to support its mission and to address the equity gaps in funding that exist amongst its 26 branches. The LFCC will help build and refresh libraries, fund new technologies and digital resources, and provide additional program funding for people of all ages.
Our funding priorities are centered on three areas:
- Branch development and capital projects including the campaign to raise funds for the new 21,000-square-foot Bay Point Library.
- Creating programming equity to support enriching and diverse programming opportunities, especially in libraries with limited funding resources.
- Enhancing the collection of library materials by adding depth and diversity to the physical and digital collections.
