The Concord Library was built in 1959 and serves Concord, the largest city in Contra Costa County (2019 population 129,688). The Concord Library is a very family friendly branch and has a large collection of children's and teen materials, including books, magazines, DVDs, CDs and more. For adults, the Concord Library has special collections of mysteries, science fiction, as well as a full array of fiction and non-fiction. We also offer New Books and our Lucky Day collection offers some of the newest and most requested titles. The Concord Library offers free programs for everyone in the community from Kindergarten countdown, tax assistance, homeless resources, financial planning, special events and more. Check out our events page for our upcoming programming and events. The Concord Friends of the Library are taking donations of gently used books for their quarterly books sales. The Concord Friend are very supportive to the Library and all of the proceedings from donations help the Library to provide new books and welcoming and inviting programs for all ages.
