About Concord Library

The Concord Library was built in 1959 and serves Concord, the largest city in Contra Costa County (2019 population: 129,688). The Concord Library is a very family-friendly branch and has a large collection of children's and teen materials, including books, magazines, DVDs, CDs and more. For adults, the Concord Library has special collections of mysteries, science fiction, and a full array of fiction and nonfiction. We also have a Lucky Day collection offering some of the newest and most requested titles. The Concord Library offers free programs for everyone in the community including Kindergarten Countdown, tax assistance, homeless resources, financial planning, special events and more. Check out our Events page for upcoming programming and events. The Friends of the Concord Library are taking donations of gently used books for their quarterly book sales. The Friends are very supportive and all of the proceeds from donations help the Library provide new books and welcoming and inviting programs for all ages.
