About Hercules Library

The Hercules Library is a state-of-the-art facility built collaboratively by the City of Hercules, the State of California and Contra Costa County. In addition, civic organizations and individuals provided substantial donations to support its construction. Its architecture gorgeously and effectively provides library users with a diverse range of spaces; some areas feel meditative, others invigorating. The library's 21,500 square feet include a Teen Room, two meeting rooms, three study rooms, a Homeschool Resource Center, a Sky Garden, a Children's Garden, a children's interactive play area called the Starry Cone, the Friends of the Hercules Library Bookstore, and a reading area with comfortable seating with views of the surrounding city, and lots of natural light.

The Homeschool Resource Center is a room reserved for Homeschool families from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. If you’re a homeschooling family, please come sign in at the front desk to use the room. Thank you.
