Día (as it is commonly known), is a celebration every day of children, families, and reading that culminates yearly on April 30. Celebrate literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Although Día culminates yearly on April 30, Contra Costa County Library is celebrating all month-long with crafts, storytimes, events, and more.

Events & Activities

  • We are excited to partner with First 5 for storytimes at the Walnut Creek, Antioch, Brentwood, Oakley, and San Pablo libraries.
  • Repujado workshops with Oakland-based artist, Rachel Palacios, at the Pinole, El Sobrante, and Oakley libraries.
  • Pick up a Worry Doll craft at your local library for your child to make at home. While supplies last.
  • Lotería scavenger hunt will be available at most libraries.
  • Children are invited to play a virtual game of Lotería! This beloved Mexican game of chance is similar to bingo but uses colorful cards and lots of fun! Register to pick up your game card and pieces at your local library.
