Library Lockers FAQs

  • General Questions

    The Library Lockers are a self-service system, offering convenient, contact-free access to pick up library materials. 

    Locker pick up is unavailable for LINK+ and select oversized library items. 

    Transit times will vary based on locker availability. Patrons will be notified when items are ready for pickup at the Library Lockers.

    To ensure that all patrons have equal access to the Library Lockers, all locker requests will be held for seven days. If the items are not picked up within seven days, your hold request will expire, and you will need to place it again. 

    You will be notified by phone call or email – based on the preferences set in your library account.

    To make changes to preferences, please call 800-984-4636 and select menu option 2. 

    Unfortunately, it's not possible to choose which items to take. Once you open the locker with your items, they will all be checked out to your account automatically. Please be sure to take all of the items inside the locker. If you no longer want an item, please place it in the book return next to the lockers. 

    Various reasons may prevent items from checking out, such as, unpaid fees, an expired account, or too many items checked out to your card currently.

    Return items in the book return located next to the Library Lockers.

    Important: Link+ items are to be returned directly to the library.

    It could take up to one week for returned items to be removed from accounts, based on the schedules of delivery staff.

    Check out and return of Link+ items is unavailable through the Library Lockers.

  • Rossmoor

    Any Rossmoor resident with a valid, full-access Contra Costa County Library card can use the Library Lockers at Rossmoor.

    The Library Lockers are located in the Rossmoor Gateway Clubhouse  For further information, view this instructional video. 

    To have an item delivered to Rossmoor:

    • Visit the online catalog to place a hold.
    • Select Rossmoor Lockers as the pickup location.
    • You can also request items by calling 800-984-4636 and select menu option 2. 

    When you are notified that your hold is ready:

    • Visit the Library Lockers in the Gateway Clubhouse between 7 am and 10 pm.
    • Scan your library card or enter your library card number to open the locker.

  • North Richmond

    Any person with a valid, full-access Contra Costa County Library card can use the Library Lockers at North Richmond

    The Lockers are located in the Corrine Sain Senior & Family Community Center. The center is open Monday – Friday from 9am to 1pm.

    The Library Lockers are located in the Corrine Sain Senior & Family Community Center at 515 Silver Ave in Richmond.

    Online

    To have an item delivered to the North Richmond Lockers, search the Library's online catalog to place a hold and select North Richmond Lockers as the pickup location.

    You can also request items by calling 800-984-4636 - and choosing menu option 2. 

    When you are notified that your hold is ready, visit the Library Lockers in the Corrine Sain Senior & Family Community Center during open hours. Scan your library card or enter your library card number to open the locker.
