Onsite Wellness Support
At the Antioch, Concord, and San Pablo libraries, you can connect directly with the Wellness Team. In partnership with Contra Costa Behavioral Health, a social worker and community support worker provide:
- Mental health education, resources, and referrals
- Meditation and art sessions for stress relief
You’ll also find Family Navigators from the Employment & Human Services Department (EHSD) at these locations. They can help you access vital services, including:
- Rent assistance, healthcare, EBT, and CalFresh
- Cash Aid, Medi-Cal, and medical coverage
- Senior and family services
- Immigration and citizenship resources
Literacy Support
Project Second Chance is the Library’s Adult Literacy program.
- Help for adults who read or write English at or below a 6th-grade level
- Free one-on-one tutoring virtually or in person with a trained tutor
- Sign up to volunteer with PSC as a literacy tutor and change someone’s life
