Institution Cards

The Library offers Institution Cards to educators, employees, and volunteers of community service organizations that serve local residents. These cards are also available to homeschooling educators. The account is intended for borrowing materials that support the work of your affiliated institution.

Eligible individuals may hold both a personal library account and one Institution account. Having a separate account helps distinguish between items used at home and those at your organization. Items borrowed for classroom or community use have a 6-week loan period up front, allowing for extended use without the worry of renewal requests being denied due to holds.

To sign up for an Institution Card, review the account requirements below and bring your eligibility documentation to any Contra Costa County Library location to get started!
