StoryWalk® is a fun, educational activity that places a children's story along a popular walking route in your community. A few libraries in Contra Costa County have partnered with their communities to bring stories to life in beautiful outdoor settings.

The San Ramon StoryWalk® is a permanent feature in San Ramon’s Central Park.  The 20-station project features a new book four times a year. The San Ramon StoryWalk® project is a partnership with the Rotary Club of San Ramon, the City of San Ramon, the San Ramon Library Foundation, and the Library. The Central Park StoryWalk® begins near the Alcosta parking lot to the right of the playground, ending at the Community Center’s rear fountain.

The Pittsburg Library's permanent StoryWalk® is a feature at Small World Park located near the carousel. A new story will be displayed three times a year. The Small World Park StoryWalk® is brought to you by the Pittsburg Library, City of Pittsburg and the Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund.

StoryWalk® with the San Pablo Library

San Pablo
Wildcat Creek Trail behind the library

 

The San Pablo Library's permanent StoryWalk® features bilingual stories along the newly restored Wildcat Creek trail. Beginning behind the library, the trail passes city hall and the WIC center and ends at Vale Road. Enjoy new stories each season while you stroll on the trail. The project is a partnership between the San Pablo Rotary Club, the City of San Pablo, and the Friends of the San Pablo Library.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition (VBPC) and the Kellogg Hubbard Library."
